One Day At A Time.
As we close in on our 50 years of sharing our lives together, I am convinced that
the central point in making that possible is that we made the most of each day as it
occured.
If we had kept a journal and written one line a day for these 18,262 days we will have shared together, it would be a standard sized book of about 365 pages. As we look back over this time, we cannot believe that at the age of 27 and 32 years at the time of our marriage, both of us have been priviliged to make it all the way to the 50th Anniversary.
I am sure that other factors entered into our life extension. We tried to live modestly, Having a garden that produced the main stay of our diet, grown without herbicides and psticides, using our own compost and organic fertilizer. We enjoyed the pleasures of life, but tried not to over indulge. We enjoyed traveling and took a couple weeks vacation to some part of America and Canada during the years our children were growing up.
We were also a part of that generation where both of us worked nearly full time, Thema teaching full time 27 years of our married life. Teaching the first year in Sparta and then coming to Wilton where she taught 26 years before retireing from teaching in 1986.
The first six years of our married life I farmed on a farm I bought from Harold Komisky in the spring of 1952, In 1957 we opened up a Camera shop in Wilton and a couple of years later turned that into a photography Studio, Moving that over to Tomah in Mid 60's calling it Webers Photography. I operated that until 1981 when I went into the realestate busines as a part of the Bob Dippen Agency. I remained in realestate until the end of 1999.
We were blessed with tree wonderful children, Sue Ann, Roger and Dawn and now have 8 terrific grandchildren, Tracy (Weber) Adams, Nicolais Adams, Cherie, Elliot and Nicole Weber.Joseph, Kelsie and Thomas Lynch.
Thema and I have been to two trips to Europe since our retirement as well as a Cruise to Alaska and Mexico. Besides the great times we have with our childrend and grandchildern we both seem busy everday with Themas Crafts and Church work and me and my gardening and computer addiction especially working on my WEB Sites.
We have had a wonderful life together. 50 years sure go by in a hurry. We want to thank all of you who helped us make this 50th Wedding Anniversary such a memorable day for us.
Thema and Bill Weber
